Roberts his wife of the county of Franklin, State of Kentucky of thefirst part, and John Shackelford of the county of Shelby and State ofKentucky of the other part, witnepeth, that the said E.A.W.Roberts &Synthia A. Roberts for, and in consideration of the sum of one hundredand fourty silver dollars in hand paid, the receipt whereof is herebyacknowledged have granted, bargained, and sold, and by these presents dogrant, bargain and sell unto the said John Shackelford, his heirs andassigns forever, all that tract of land or parcel of land, situate andbeing in the county of Shelby State of Kentucky and bounded as follows,to wit: Beginning at a poplar bush & poplar stump thence East 50 poles toa Sugartree & Dogwood, thence North 30 poles to a Sasafras & white Oakbush, thence N37 W. 27 poles to a black Ash stump. thence West 39 polesto a large hickory thence South 55 1/2 poles to the beginning, containingfourteen acres one half and 34 poles be the same more or less. Togetherwith all and singular the appurtenames thereto belonging or in anywiseappertaining: to have and to hold the land hereby conveyed, with theappurtenances unto the said John Shackelford his heirs and afsignsforever. And the said E.A.W.Roberts & Synthia A. Roberts for themselves &their heirs, executors, and administrators the aforesaid tract of landand appurtenance, unto the said John Shackelford his heirs or afsigns,against the claim or claims of all and every person claiming by throughor under him do and will forever warrant and defend by these presentsagainst himself his heirs and afsigns but no other.
