HONNAKER PASSED AWAY THURSDAY NIGHT J. B. Honnaker, a well known and highly respected citizen of Dade City, passed away at his home last Thursday night at about eleven o’clock, atthe advanced age of eighty-two. Mr. Honnaker had been ailing in health for several years, the indirect cause of his death having resulted from a sunstroke which he suffered about thirteen years ago at Shelbyville, Kentucky. He never completely rallied from the sunstroke and it finally grew into apoplexy, which was the direct cause of death. Mr. Honnaker was an old honored engineer of the Louisville & Nashville Railroad, having run on that road between Louisville and Cincinnati and between Louisville and Bloomfield for fifty years. During that time Mr. Honnaker served with one of the cleanest records of any man on the road. Funeral Services were held Saturday afternoon and interment was made in the Dade City cemetery. Services were conducted at the house by Rev. George H. Ward and the Masonic services were held at the grave, the deceased having been a member of that lodge. Besides a host of friends in Dade City and Kentucky the deceased leaves three brothers and two sisters all in Kentucky. He also leaves a wife and four daughters and one son, J. B. Honnaker, Jr., of this city. Mr. Honnaker always bore a reputation for fairness and honesty, and had the highest respect of all that knew him.
