To make a long story short my dadbecame a famous football player for Santa Clara and his team, theBronco's, played in the second Sugar Bowl in New Orleans in 1937 or 1938.While playing football my dad was given the nick name, MississippiSmith', because he was from Miss. Another team mate named Lionel Rodgers became friends with my dad andtold him if he ever needed a job he could come to work for his family inVallejo, Calif. . My dad took up the invitation moved to Vallejo, went towork for the Rodgers Bottling Company and married the boss's daughter.
