His old home in Williamsboro was sold by one of his sons to the "rich" Hamilton Family, who named it "Burnside" after their English home. The family genealogist has only furnished us with the names of two of his sons: (1) William Hunt and
(2) Dr. Thomas Hunt.

Memucan Hunt was Treasurer of North Carolina during the Revolutionary War, 1777 - 1778.

Memucan Hunt was Entry Taker for Granville County, North Carolina for about a year in February 1778.

His will was proven in Granville County, North Carolina and is recorded in Will Book 7, Page 1.
