Find directions in the Shelby Co.Library in book, Cemeteries of Shelby Co., Ky. From Shelbyville drive east on US 60 for 8.1 miles and turn right on Ky.395 at Peytona, Ky. Travel south 1.3 miles and turn right into WestviewFarm now owned by the Brown Family.(Get permission to enter Cemeterygrounds). The cemetery is located in a grove of trees 2500 ' west ofthis point. Condition: this cemetery occupies an area measuring 40 by50 and once enclosed by a field stone fence. All four walls are nowdown. In addition to the stones listed, the survey located 14 gravesmarked by field stones. This survey was made on 10/8/1976. ------------------------------------------------- The legal heirs of Daniel Brumley ll were Martha Brumley, widow and hisland was divided between Daniel Brumley, William Brumley, Isaac Brumley,John Cook, Margaret Brumley, Samuel Brumley, and Thomas Jones. His slave, 'Jail' or 'Jailey' was valued at only $250 due to her age andwas to stay with his widow, Martha. 'Jailey' was handed down again in thefamily in 1863 when Daniel ll's son, William left a will in which henamed a black woman, 'Jailey', tying together 3 generations. Daniel Brumley's wife, Martha 'Patsey' is buried beside him. Since shesurvived him (tombstone inscription reads she was b. Jan. 27, 1779 anddied Sept. 30, 1848), he could not have married either Rachel Pattersonor Sarah in Jessamine Co.,Ky. Daniel's signatures match that he signed on his own marriage bond in 1796and the one he signed for his Son, Samuel to Eliza C. Hodges in 1817.
