Pat Sengestock 'feels the Albermarle Co. records show his family & Annefeels he is probably the 'Stafford Co John' who arrived in Albemarleabout 1790. They farmed in Stafford Co., Va. until 1789 & then moved toAlbemarle where they stayed until 1795. It was there that theyestablished ties with other families, ties that would take them to Ky.(Goolsbury Legacies).
In 1807, they moved from Garrard Co.,Ky. & settled in Shelby nearBaghdad, Ky., after having come into Ky. through the Cumberland Gap alongthe Wilderness Road. He is to have served as a Captain in the VirginiaState Line for which he received a warrant for 4000 acres of land as of2-26-1783.
WFT says first 5 children were born in Stafford, Va; last 5 born inAlbemarle.

Cemetery Location: From Shelbyville, Ky. drive north on Ky. 53 for 6.1miles and turn right on the Geoghegan Rd. Drive east for 1.35 miles andturn left on Adams Rd. Continue north into the farm for 800 feet. Thecemetery is located 1,100 feet due east of this point in a grove of trees.
There are 7 other graves marked by fieldstones. Enclosed by fence. 35' x25', survey done June 26, 1977.

John W. and his family went to Cooper County Missouri. They die young
there and left three children. The boys lived with the Hughes for a time
and then go to Indiana. The girl went with the Rodgers sister who
married Struther Mitchell. In time they move to Daviess County Missouri
but as the courthouse burned I could not trace her under her married
name.
