Enoch and Faithy may have had a daughter named Elizabeth, born ca 1828, who married James Patterson, February 20, 1843, in Coosa Co., AL. However, note that Enoch was living in Talladega County, AL, in 1840; died in 1842 and is buried at Oak Hill Cemetery in Talladega town in Talladega County, which is somewhat removed from Coosa County.
Also, the 1830 Talbot County, GA, census record for Enoch and Faithy does not include in the household any female whatsoever other than Faithy herself. If born ca 1828, Elizabeth would be around 12 in 1840 and no such female appears in the household on the 1840 Talladega Co., AL, census. The 3 young females on 1840 census in Enoch's household are all under 10 and all 3 can be accounted for on the 1850 census (Martha, age 19; Sarah, age 18; and Mary, age 16).
Elizabeth is probably the daughter of Richard and Martha Knight and Enoch's sister rather than his daughter and I feel that this is the more reasonable conclusion.
According to family lore, Enoch and Faithy Knight brought their family to Talladega County, AL, from Coweta Co., GA, in 1839. In 1842, Enoch lost his life from gas in a well. After his death, the family lived for a time in Coosa County but later returned to Sylacauga in Talladega County.
Family lore says that Faithy died in 1899 in Sylacauga, age 70 years. However, her tombstone at Ebenezer Methodist Church Cemetery, located south of Kelly's Crossroads in southern Coosa County contains the information that she was born in Abbeville County, SC, and died in Chilton Co., AL, September 2, 1867. Apparently, familty folklore is in error in this respect. Since Faithy was age 41 on the 1850 census and age 60 on the 1860 census, I believe that the tombstone information is the more credible. She would have been 67 at the time of her death in 1867. If she had lived until 1899, her age would have been 99 - not 70. Her burial at the Ebenezer Church Cemtery is understandable as her father-in-law, Richard Knight , as well as other Knight family members are buried there. It is not known as to why she died in Chilton County.2
