Wade, a male, white, married, farmer, born 22 October 1836 in Shelby County, Kentucky, aged 74 years, 3 months and 3 days, died of unknown causes in Utterback Precinct, Franklin County, Kentucky, 25 January 1911. He was attended by John Patterson, M.D. of Frankfort, Kentucky, from January 21 to January 25. The parents of Obediah were Anderson Wade, born in Shelby County, Kentucky, and America Cheatham, born in Kentucky. He was buried at the cemetery at Indian Fork Baptist Church in Shelby County 26 January 1911. The undertaker was Rogers & Son. The informant for the death certificate was Waller Wade of Frankfort.

    Mrs O B Wade, widow of Obediah Wade filed application November 19, 1919. She, Eusebia N Cook, was born November 1, 1845 in Shelby Co, Kentucky. Obediah Wade was born October 22, 1836 in Shelby Co, Kentucky. They were married January 17, 1860 by Rev Alfred Peters. Obediah enlisted in autumn, 1862, Co E, 5th Kentucky Cav, served until close of war. He was captured and held prisoner at Camp Morton, Indiana until close of war. He died January 25, 1911 in Franklin Co. They were living together at this death, she has not remarried. The property she possesses is an income of $159 from lifetime dower from husband. She has no family. Any correspondence should be written to William Martin, Bagdad. She signed her name October 13, 1919, witnessed by Mrs Oscar Wade. A witness questionnaire was completed by Mrs Malinda Lea. The War Department record showed Obediah Wade enlisted September 2, 1862, Co E 5th Kentucky Cav. The only roll of the war on February 28, 1863 lists him. Comrades testify to his service until released at Camp Morton, Indiana May, 1865. Testimony of James M Harp was they served together, captured about April or May, 1864. Camp Morton was at Indianapollis, Indiana. harp was released in May, 1865 and brought a letter from Obediah to his wife stating he would be discharged in a few days. There was similar testimony from A A Bailey.,.
