Albertia N Shackelford

Male, #13124, b. March 5, 1888, d. November 2, 1894
FatherAlbert D Shackelford b. between 1861 and 1862, d. between May, 1890 and Nov, 1894
MotherAlice J Crutcher b. Oct 21, 1851, d. Oct 25, 1918
RelationshipAlbertia N Shackelford is a descendent of a parent or ancestor of a spouse of one of my relatives. Because Albertia N is not a relative of mine I am not actively researching him.

BirthMarch 5, 1888Albertia was born March 5, 1888 in Frankfort, Franklin County, Kentucky.1
DeathNovember 2, 1894Albertia died November 2, 1894 in Franklin County, Kentucky at age 6 due to Got rabies after being bit by a mad dog..1
BurialHis body was buried in North Benson Baptist Church Cemetery, Franklin County, Kentucky.2,3
Note-ShackelfordAlbertia N Shackelford Albertia was bitten by a mad dog and got rabies and died from it in 1894 when he was only 6 yrs. old. Edwin Elmo had died in 1890. Cause unknown to me. My grandfather , who was 11 yrs. old at the time was living with Alice, his step -mother, whom he said was mean to him as she only cared about her children by Albert. After his father & half-brothers died, (all in 4 years time) at some point he ran away from Alice & was told to me that he went to live with the Crutchers--which ones, I don't know. My grandfather, Jas. W. Shackelford, told this to his 3rd. wife, Stelle, (my step-grandmother) and she told me after his death.

On Albertia's tombstone it reads , son of Alice J. Shackelford ?
Note: The absence of Albert's name on the stone is probably because he had already passed away then. Albert died between 1890-1894. Alice was in the 1900 Census of Franklin Co. as a widow.

Also, Albertia's stone reads: 'Beneath this stone in silent sleep islaid a mother's dearest------?---------
A flower that's care-------(-remaining words are-unreadable)

Edwin Elmo Shackelford

Male, #13125, b. February 3, 1890, d. May 18, 1890
FatherAlbert D Shackelford b. between 1861 and 1862, d. between May, 1890 and Nov, 1894
MotherAlice J Crutcher b. Oct 21, 1851, d. Oct 25, 1918
RelationshipEdwin Elmo Shackelford is a descendent of a parent or ancestor of a spouse of one of my relatives. Because Edwin Elmo is not a relative of mine I am not actively researching him.

BirthFebruary 3, 1890Edwin was born February 3, 1890 in Franklin County, Kentucky.1,2
DeathMay 18, 1890Edwin died May 18, 1890 in Franklin County, Kentucky.1,2
BurialHis body was buried in North Benson Baptist Church Cemetery, Franklin County, Kentucky.1,3
Note-ShackelfordEdwin Elmo Shackelford Edwin Elmo Shackelford was only 3 mos. old when he died. His brother, Albertia was only 6 yrs. old when he died due to rabies he got from being bitten by a rabid dog.
On Edwin's tombstone it reads , son of A.D. & A.J. Shackelford. Albert still alive then.

Four years after Edwin died, Albertia died from rabies.(1894) As Albertia's tombstone doesn't say child of A.D. Shackelford but only says child of Alice J. Shackelford, then Albert was already dead by 1894. My grandfather, James W. Shackelford, (son of Catherine Hulett, b. 1863, Albert's 1st wife) was abt 11 yrs old then and was left living by himself with Alice, who as the story goes, hated him. He eventually ran away and went to live with some Crutchers--which ones, I do not know. Six years later Alice is living in the 1900 census with her sister Millie Crutcher, still single. Alice marries Alonzo A. Duvall in abt 1909.2
