  • [S1313] Obituary of Sarah Snook, Shelby Sentinel & Shelby News, Shelby Co, Kentucky (June 27, 1901),
    Death of Mrs Snook
Mrs Sarah Snook, wife of the late Mr Van Snook, died last Saturday night at her home in the northern part of this county near Eminence, of kidney trouble. She was a most estimable Christian woman and beloved by a large circle of friends. She leaves four sons: Messrs Walker, Sidney, of Kuttawa, Marion and Duncan Snook and one daughter, Mrs. Henry Rowland, of Louisville. Her husband and oldest son, the late Winford Snook were fatally poisoned at the Snook-Heir? wedding at Lyndon about ten years ago. Mrs. Snook was also poisoned at the same time and her health was never the same since. It is thought her death was indirectly caused by the poison.
The funeral services were conducted at the Baptist church in Eminence, of which she was a true and devoted member, last Monday morning at ten o'clock. When the funeral cortege reached Eminence cemetery it was found the grave had caved in. Her remains were placed in the vault and the burial took place Friday afternoon.
