Biography Everett Wayne Taylor lost his father when he was just 8 years old. His father was killed in an automobile accident, and left his wife with 3 children to provide for. His mother went to work first as a seamstress in a dry cleaning shop, and later at Allisons, a factory, where she eventually retired. Everett was raised in the slums of Indianapolis, Indiana. When the missionaries came to his home after the death of his father, his mother, himself, and both older brothers were baptized into the Mormon church. When he heard about the 'plan of salvation' he took that teaching very much to heart. He went to work and saved up the money necessary to make the trip back to Salt Lake temple to have his parents sealed to each other, and he & a brother sealed to his parents also. He was 16 years old when he did this. He was born in the Methodist hospital in Indianapolis, Indiana. Grandma Ruth had 2 previous stillbirths, and her Dr. promised her a live baby if she would do everything he told her to do while she was prenant. The last thing she was to do to insure a live baby was to have the baby in a hospital instead of at home. He was the youngest of 3 living children and his older brothers picked on him all of the time. One of their favorite things to do was to have 'drinking contests' with ice cold drinks so that he would end up with a 'brain freeze.' Another favorite thing was to make him so mad that he would swing hay makers, as their arms were longer than his, & they would put their hand on his head & hold him at arms length so that he could not connect. He never tattled to his mother because he didn't want to bother her. His father, Elza was a machinist and traveled to different factories to work, so he was hardly ever homes. When he did come home, Everett was always excited to be with him. He loved his dad very much. The appliances in those days were wood cook stoves, ice boxes instead of refrigerators. Baths were taken once a week. Grandpa Everett lived in the inner city slums of Indianapolis. There was no TV. He played touch football with his brothers and the neighborhood children. But most of his time was spent in the house doing chores for his mother so that she didn't have to do them when she came home from work. After his father was killed, Grandma Ruth had to get a job & support her children. Everett didn't want things to be anymore difficult for his mother than they already were. He cooked and took care of the house. There was a very close bond between his mother and him. Once he broke his nose while playing football, but he wasn't taken to the hospital because they didn't have any money to pay for the services. His transportation was walking. His mother never owned a car or ever learned how to drive. He believed in Santa and he came every year. The year his father died he wanted a .25 toy gun very badly. It was that Christmas his mother chose to tell him that there was no Santa. His father wasn't home much anyway, so it bothered him more to find out there was no Santa Claus, than to deal with his father's death. His mother was a good cook. He was very quiet and subdued. He never did much dating. Never made any waves, and kept to himself mostly. He was very smart, got straight A's, graduated from high school at age 16, but never had the money or opportunity to attend college. A funny story Grandma Ruth used to like to tell about him was when he was about 2 years old, and just barely able to talk. He told his mother, 'I'm so hunnery I could 'just eat a crus of bread.' (I think you had to be there, cause that doesn't sound like a funny story to me!) An exciting event in his life was when he met in person the prophet of the Mormon Church, David O. McKay, and President McKay shook his hand, looked him in the eye and said, 'You'll go far in the Church, you have a good Mormon name.' (Taylor) When he found out he was going to be a Grandfather for the 1st time, he was excited. He was always involved with his family and they were the most important thing to him in his life. Ronnie (his 1st grandchild Ronald Phillip Moser), called him 'Bamps' because he couldn't say Grandpa. That name stuck with him with the rest of his grandchildren. I remember him telling about a co worker that said to him jokingly, 'It's not so bad to wake up and find out that you're a Grandpa, what's bad is waking up and finding yourself in bed with a Grandmother!' He found that remark to ber very offensive. He was happy to be a grandpa, and he had a lot of love and respect for his wife.
He found the girl of his dreams when he was 16. He finally convinced her to marry him, and they were married when he was 18 years old. He was a hard worker, but had many jobs, and moved a lot because he couldn't settle on what he wanted to do. He eventually found that he liked sales, so he made a career of appliance sales with K Mart. He had a strong testimony of the Mormon church, and taught his children about it. He could talk about the gospel like no one I've met before or since. He was fun to listen too. He was a great public speaker. The following is a copy of his Patriarchial Blessing: 'A blessing given by Patriarch Edward B. Clark upon the head of Everett Wayne Taylor, a son of Elza William Taylor & Ruth Leamasters Taylor, born January 2, 1928 at Indianapolis, Indiana.'
'Brother Everett Wayne Taylor: By the authority of the Holy Priesthood, I lay my hands upon your head, and seal and confirm upon you a Patriarchal blessing, that it may help guide the destinies of your life. These Patriarchal blessings are given to the members of the Church for their encouragement, for them to read and study, that they may live worthy of the blessings which are pronounced upon their heads. You are of Israel, the seed of Abraham, coming throught the lineage of that righteous man Ephraim, who received power and authority of leadership. Having inherited these blessings, you are entitled to the spirit of leadership, and I bless you Brother Taylor that you may become a leader and a wise counselor among the children of men here upon the earth. I bless you that you may feel the influence of the spirit of the Lord and that the gift of the Holy Ghost may rest upon you, that you may enjoy its power and influence, that your mind may be enlightened to comprehend the truths of the everlasting Gospel. Honor the Priesthood which has been so graciously placed upon you in your young manhood, if you do so, it will be a source of strength and power unto you. An understanding of the truths of the gospel and of the mysteries of Heqven shall be made known unto you. Honor the Lord, honor your parents, honor the authorities of the Church and those who may be placed over you in the organizations of the Church. I bless you with the good things of the earth, as well as with the blessings of Heaven. If you will be humble and prayerful, the blessings of Heaven, even the windows of Heaven shall be opened unto you, and blessings will be poured out upon your head to your heart's content and to your joy and satisfaction. Keep your life pure and unspotted from the grosser sins of the world. The Lord delights in the chastity of His children; therefore, live up to the standards of the Church, observe the laws of chastity, observe the laws of life, observe the laws of God. Go not in the way of temptation lest you be entrapped in the snares which the adversary lays to entrap the children of our Father. Inasmuch as you honor your father and your mother and are obedient to them, your children shall be obedient unto you. I bless you, Brother Taylor, that the blessings of the house of the Lord may be imparted unto you, and that you may live up to the covenants and the obligations which you make with the Lord. You were faithful in your pre-mortal life and you entered into a covenant with the Lord, that in coming to the earth, you would be faithful and true, in honoring the Lord and keeping His commandments. You have been left a splendid heritage which you should honor. Be considerate of your mother who delights in having her children obedient and serving the Lord. I bless you that your faith may increase from this time forth that you may be studious, that you may learn the laws of life, the laws of the Gospel, that you may prepare yourself for the responsibilities which shall be placed upon your shoulders. Be patient in suffering, be tolerant in your life toward others, be helpful to the down trodden and to the weak, seek to bless mankind that their lives may be made better through their associations with you. Let your life be so lived that you may merit the great blessings which Our Father has in store for you, for He desires to make of you a leader in the House of Israel. Therefore, prepare yourself by reading, by studying and by praying to Our Heavenly Father for the inspiration of His Holy Spirit. I bless you with the gift of wisdom, that you may be wise in your counsels and in your deliberations with the children of men. I bless you with a long useful life, that you may become a wise counselor among your Fathers household that you may seek after the genealogy of your forebearers, that you may perform the necessary work for their redemption. Always remember that your life cannot be made perfect or receive a fullness of joy without the fellowship, the redemption of your progenitors. In seeking a companion to be a partner with you in life, ask the Lord in sincerity to help you, and if possible to go to the house of the Lord, there to be sealed for time and for all eternity, that you and your companion may become a King and a Queen to rule and reign in the House of Israel forever. These blessings, together with every good Gift and blessing that your heart may desire, and that you are willing to work fro, may be given unto you. These blessings I seal upon you through your faithfulness, by the power of a glorious resurrection and to enjoy and eternal increase in the mansions of Our Father. I do this by the authority of the Patriarchal Priesthood, in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen. Edward B. Clark/Patriarch.1

  1. [S3321] Vardeman Gedcom File from Kathryn Taylor Moser, Kathryn Taylor Moser , received May 3, 2006, I hired a researcher, Violet Jennings to find information on Elizabeth. She went to the Frankfort Library in Kentucky and found the documentation we needed. She found her father's consent to marry Henry Roberts. Once I found Lewis, the rest of the Marshall information was in the ancestral file. That increased our family size by an additional 22 families.

I posted this information online, just as put in by the ancestral file, and received some 'corrections' by an unsolicited source, but it was a good thing.

The Cooke's, Buckners, Ironmongers, Marshalls are families affected by the Fraudalent Lineages fiasco.
I made the corrections to this file, but have not corrected it in all my postings, nor can I 'fix' the ancestral file or IGI.

Be careful on your progession of this line. Be sure to source and document EVERYTHING beyond this point, because it will most likely be incorrect if you accept anything at face value.

Be sure to read the Fraudulent Lineages to find out what I am referring to on this. km.
