Family 2

Mary Smith b. Apr 1853, d. 1 Feb 1919
Note His death certificate states his parents as J A Guthrie and Dorcas Antle, both born in Kentucky.
Problem DataThere is a problem with this data: The 1900 census indicates Thomas and Mary have been married 27 years. The 1910 census indicates 36 years and that this is the first marriage of both. This puts their marriage about 187l3-1874 but in the 1880 census Thomas is married to Sarah Duncan. This may be a case to two Thomas J Guthrie's living about the same time.
Census 1870July 14, 1870Thomas was listed as the head of a household with his wife Sarah Frances Duncan in the 1870 Census on July 14, 1870 near Jacksonville, Shelby County, Kentucky. Thomas's occupation is listed as farmer. Other members of the household listed were Huston Guthrie and Martha Guthrie.8
Census 1880June 8, 1880Thomas was listed as the head of a household with his wife Sarah Frances Duncan in the 1880 Census on June 8, 1880 in Bloomfield, Nelson County, Kentucky. Other members of the household listed were Huston Guthrie, Martha Guthrie, Maudie Guthrie, Maggie Guthrie, Pearl Guthrie, Minnie Guthrie and Herbert S Guthrie.1,7
Census 1900June 5, 1900Thomas was listed as the head of a household with his wife Mary Smith in the 1900 Census on June 5, 1900 at 1401 1st Street Louisville, Jefferson County, Kentucky. Thomas's occupation is listed as merchant. Other members of the household listed were Herbert S Guthrie One problem with this record is it states husband and wife were married 27 years. That does not fit the other known facts.10
Census 1910April 12, 1910Thomas was listed as the head of a household with his wife Mary Smith in the 1910 Census on April 12, 1910 at 1253 Cherokee Road Louisville, Jefferson County, Kentucky. Thomas's occupation is listed as retail merchant-trunks and leather goods. Other members of the household listed were Herbert S Guthrie.12
